Vote for Gallery

Vote for Gallery

The Sourceforge.net 2007 Community Choice Awards are now accepting nominations and if you are a Gallery user it’s time to step up and put your vote where your photos are. For now, it’s all about nominating the project to make sure it’s included in the final voting round.

You can nominate Gallery on the project page over at sf.net, or via this direct link (Sourceforge login required).

After the nomination phase has been completed, don’t forget to visit http://sourceforge.net/awards/cca/ to submit your final vote! Voting begins on July 9th.

Back in Indy

My first trip to DebConf ended yesterday evening (EDT).  Fortunately, the trip back to Indy was much smoother than the trip to Edinburgh (my long rant on that harrowing experience will be posted when I finish it ;) ).  I had a great time at DebConf and hope to see familiar faces as well as meet new people at future DebConfs.  Hope to see you in Argentina.

The Good Morning Hot Dog

In the Simpson's episode "Bart's Friend Falls in Love", Homer watches a TV ad for a heart attack inducing burger:

We take eighteen ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich, creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham, and a fried egg. We call it the Good Morning Burger.

Erica Barnett of The Stranger wrote that she finally found a Stuff Magazine article she could get behind: Super Leftovers: Bacon, Cheese, and Beer Dog. Stranger News Intern Jonah Spangenthal-Lee made a dozen of them and chronicled everything from their creation to their devouring by The Stranger staff.

It's like the Good Morning Burger come to life, only in hot dog form :)

2007 Google Summer of Code

Google is once again sponsoring the Summer of Code. Gallery is pleased to be one of the accepted organizations and is happy to work along side dozens of other great open source projects. I'm pleased to be a Summer of Code program administrator for Gallery again this year and we've assembled an excellent team of mentors and administrators to work with the students this year. Here's to another excellent Google Summer of Code!

Woo hoo! Snow day!

IUPUI is closed today due to adverse weather conditions. As I understand it, it's the second time in 20 years that the university has been closed for weather. Fortunately for me, the first time was last Tuesday :)
