Hello world!

Home from DebConf 9

I made it back to Indianapolis yesterday evening around 9:00 PM EDT (0300 CEST, 0100 UTC). The only issue I had with the entire trip home was with the last leg of my trip (DTW-IND) and that was just a 30 minute delay and the airline moving the flight to a different gate 3-4 times. Fortunately, Orbitz sent me an SMS with each gate change so I was able to learn of the gate change despite my reduced visual acuity. I had no trouble navigating MAD or AMS (or DTW or IND for that matter).

I made it to DebConf 9 last Thursday evening without issue and it was looking like this would be my first DebConf where nothing went majorly wrong for me. Actually, so far nothing has gone majorly wrong, only moderately :)

On my way to DC9

I'm sitting in the gate area at IND waiting to catch my flight to ATL, the first leg in my trip to DebConf 9, my third DebConf. Unlike the previous two trips to DebConf, it's beginning to look like this will be a hassle-free and trouble-free trip. That'll be a refreshing change if it turns out to be true. Hope to see you in Cáceres!

I'm Going to DebConf 9

I had a great time at DebConf 7 in Edinburgh and DebConf 8 in Mar Del Plata. This year I've gotten more involved in organizing DebConf and I'm looking forward to another excellent time at DebConf 9. See you in Cáceres!

Happy 15th Birthday, Debian!

15 years ago today, Ian Murdock announced the Debian Linux Release. I've been involved in Debian since 2002 and am amazed at how the project has grown during my involvement, let alone its entire history. Here's to continued success for the Universal Operating System!

Tonight was the Debian 15th Anniversary Party and formal dinner over at the alternate hotel. During dinner, Bdale asked helix which Wilson Sister she thought she was most like.

Greetings from DebConf 8!

Despite my car issues on the way to CVG, the rest of my trip to MDQ went off without a hitch. The flights from CVG and IAH left without delay and the bus ride from EZE to MDQ was uneventful, if long. I'm looking forward to another exciting time at DebConf!
